Conical strainers are designed to provide protection for expensive pumps, valves, meters and other mechanical equipments from foreign objects. The baskets of the conical strainers are installed in metal body, between flanges and work as temporary or permanent filtering devices.
Normally supplied in Carbon steel, stainless steel and other alloys and available in most sizes with perforations & mesh. Conical strainers that we offer are extensively used as sweepers for flushing pipeline debris prior to commissioning of plants & equipments. Their main function is to remove objects such as welding electrode butts, slag, pliers, spanners, nut-bolts etc. These strainers protect screen of Y and Basket strainers, cartridge of microfine filters and other expensive piping equipments. Conical strainers are for temporary use and thrown away after initial cleaning of the system. The down side to a Conical Strainer is they are fitted between two flanges therefore requiring an accessible section of pipe. Conical Strainers strainer are temporary Strainers used mostly before start up of a Plant use perforated wire or mesh to trap suspended solids from a process stream. Conical strainers are usually installed horizontally in a piping system.
